A promotional book encouraging investment in the Company. A continuation of the long title reads; "Their Condition , Advantages and Prospects As a Security for its First Mortgage Seven per cent, Gold Bonds. With information in relation to the Bituminous and Anthracite Coals, Hematite, Specular and Magnetic Iron Ores; Copper, Asbestos, Marl, Manganese, and other Minerals, Building Stones and the Agricultural, Mechanical, Timber and other Resources of the County Tributary to its Lines of Railway." Seventy-nine pages with four folded maps, as required, showing commercial relations and minerals, including gold, along the railroad right of way, plus a fifty-six page appendix. Originally bound in gray printed wrappers, and soon after bound in contemporary quarter leather over marbled paper covered board with seven raised bands and original title label pressed on. Spine professionally rebacked. Original heavily worn leather corners replaced with thick Japanese paper. Interior hinges repaired. Two library plates on the front paste-down endpaper, though no other library markings, pockets or plates were ever present. A very good copy.
