Welcome to our website of fine and rare books.

We focus on books of Railroad History and Technology, Western Americana, Civil War, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Supernatural, Children's Illustrated, and on occasion, various other interesting areas of fiction and non-fiction.

We are always interested in purchasing books of merit, whether single items or entire collections. We will travel considerable distances to examine larger collections.

Most of the engines pictured are accompanied with a service record describing where and how the owning railroads operated them plus the locomotive's specifications. Fifty-three pages with locomotives featured from various railroads; Canadian National, C&O, Wisconsin Central, New York Central, Pere Marquette, Detroit, Toledo & Ironton, Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac, Nickel Plate, Boston & Maine, Kansas City Southern, Virginian, Southern Pacific, Akron, Canton & Youngstown, Central of Georgia, Western Maryland, War Department, and Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer Francais. 134 pages with pages 5 through 45 a history of the Baldwin Locomotive Works. The rest of the pages feature sixteen builder's rod's down photographs with backgrounds of the buildings of the Baldwin Locomotive Works. Each full page photograph is mounted on heavy stock paper followed by one to three pages of data specifications for the locomotive type. All the photographs are sharp and clear. Romaine; American Trade Catalogues, pg 301. Bound in original brown pebbled cloth with lettering on the front cover and spine stamped in gilt and border on the covers stamped in blind. A little mottling to the covers. Contemporary owner's signature dated 1874 on the prelim page. Some penciled notes in the margins not affecting the text or photographs. Light wear to the spine ends.
