Volume one focuses on lines east of the Mississippi River; volume two on lines in Iowa and Missouri; volume three on lines west of the Missouri River. These books contain all important documents relating to the various companies in the CB&Q Railroad system, from the beginning of the corporate existence of the oldest companies down to 1928, including special charters, articles of incorporation, consolidations, leases, deeds, mortagages, decrees of foreclosure and sales thereunder, accompanied by brief sketches of the Corporate History of each company together with such general railroad laws as seem pertinent to the history. In 1928 the CB&Q had over 9,000 miles of track in eleven different states. The CB&Q includes about 200 different railroads with which it had been consolidated or acquired. The three thick volumes total 4805 pages. Bound in original black cloth with lettering and logo stamped in gilt. A fine and bright set.
