Message of the Governor, seventeen pages, followed by seventeen of nineteen documents, plus another Message of the Governor, 24 pages, followed again by thirty-four documents. The two missing documents: Document IX, REPORT OF THE SECRETARY OF THE COMMONWEALTH TO THE JOINT LIBRARY COMMITTEE, 1863, presents a report on the affairs of the state library (focusing on the details of a library robbery!), and Document X, GOVERNOR'S COMMUNICATION TRANSMITTING DOCUMENTS FROM GEORGIA, 1863, transmits a letter complaining about the treatment of Georgian business agents during a trip to Virginia. A thick volume, pages bulk at 2 & 7/8th inches. Bound with original cloth spine with paper title label over paper covered boards. Early California State Library plate fixed to the inside of the front cover. No other library markings, labels or pockets were ever present. Split interior hinge where the two documents were pulled, cover corners worn, else an about very good copy.
