Original final draft single page typed manuscript with Smith's signature in full under last line of verse. Referenced in Donald Sidney-Fryer's, Emperor of Dreams; A Clark Ashton Smith Bibliography, page 96. The second version of this sonnet, first line,"Deep are the chasmal years and lustrums long.". Published by Roy A Squires, 1941. From the collection and estate of Raymond L.F. Johnson. The lower portion of the page has been removed, though the entire sonnet and signature remain. The mild toning and very light folding creases in thirds to the pages [for mailing]. Near fine.
