The Paterson and Hudson River Rail Road Company and the section of track running from the Hackensack River to Twenty-first avenue, Paterson, is the right of way of one of the oldest railroads in the United States. Construction commenced on July 4, 1831 and a portion of the road to Acquackanonk was opened to traffic in June 1832. 319 pages with photographs, illustrations and foldout map. Bound in original black pebbled cloth with lettering in gilt. Railroadians of America stamps on the front endpaper and title page. A fine copy.
