Many of the pictures were taken by several railroad fans while on train photo trips, one covering 3200 miles in everal weeks in the early 1950's. They obviously had their trip planned and which railroads they would photograph. Many are originals credited to Charles Givens, Jack Gibson, Robert Johnson, Stuart H. Hahn, John P. Carrick, "Birney Miller, and Robert E. Searle. These photographers often had their pictures featured in magazines and books. A very handsome presentation of main line, logging and mining railroads.
