Anderson who wrote the foreword. Only 400 copies of this issue were published, 52 of which were lettered copies. Reprints the Grosset & Dunlap issue and includes 100+ illustrations by Eggleton, John Coleman Burroughs, Reed Crandall, J. Allen St. John, Motoichiro Takebe, Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Douglas Klauba, Steve Rude, Robert Abbett, Richard Corben, Joe Jusko and Julian Drupa, seven of which are foldouts, and many of the full-page illustrations are in color. Map endpapers. John Carter of Mars bookmarks laid in. A facsimile Canaveral Press item laid into each book. Set number 45 John Carter of Mars medallion included with the set as issued.
