COLORADO ON GLASS; COLORADO'S FIRST HALF CENTURY AS SEEN BY THE CAMERA
Denver, CO: Sundance Publications, 1975. First edition. Hardcover. Fine / Fine. Item #53014
ISBN: 0913582131
Unnumbered copy of 250 copies signed by Mangan on the special limitation page with Jackson print "Crossing Timberline on the Manitou & Pike's Peak Railway". This contact solar print was made from an original glass plate by William Henry Jackson. From the plush surroundings of the Victorian photographic galleries to the rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountains, the glass plates were transported, sensitized, exposed, developed and stabilized, to capture on glass the image of the rapidly changing face of the Centennial State. They are typical of Colorado photography during the pioneer age. 406 pages with historic photographs, one as long foldout of Denver, and directory of early Colorado photographers by Opal Murry Harber. Fine in fine clear vinyl dust cover protector, housed within a fine example of the publisher's slipcase.
Price: $350.00
