The Sumpter Valley Railway, Oregon's erstwhile narrow gauge, was built during the great days of lumber barons. With the S.V.R. were an array of privately owned loggers. Each laid slim gauge rails into the woods and pulled out their log trains with Shays, Climaxes and Heislers. 128 pages with more than 210 illustrations and photographs, 10 prototype scale diagrams, rosters, and index. Near fine in near fine, bright dust jacket. A very handsome copy.
