The title chapter is about William C. Slaper who was with Reno. Bound in yellow cloth. Owner's signature, Mary I?. Phelps, and dated November 1929 on front endpaper. In pencil on the rear endpaper, "I knew at Fort Meade, S. Dakota, in 1888 (about), Captains McDougal, Irruch?, Wallace, Godfrey, Edgerly, Hare, Major Garlington, and Yarnum? Also saw Comanche many times. (M.I.P.)" A Lieutenant Phelps was stationed for a time in the 1870s at Fort Meade.
