Four canal reports privately bound in a single volume. The four reports are; ANNUAL REPORT OF THE CANAL COMMISSIONERS OF PENNSYLVANIA, MADE TO THE GOVERNOR, DECEMBER 2, 1834; COMMUNICATION FROM THE CANAL COMMISSIONERS, RELATIVE TO THE SALE OF THE MAIN LINE OF THE PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE, 1856; UNION CANAL COMPANY. SPECIAL REPORT OF THE AUDITOR, AND REPORT OF THE AUDITOR UPON THE FIRST AND SECOND ACCOUNTS OF THE TRUSTIES, 1857, 1863; and REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE TO WHOM WAS REFERRED THE SUBJECT OF THE DELAWARE & RARITAN CANAL MADE TO THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, ON THE 15TH DAY OF JANUARY 1829. Financial reports and construction progress and maintenance of the main canals and feeder line canals and railroads. One report regarding the purchase of the Columbia and Philadephia Rail-Road, the Allegheny Portage Rail-Road and the main canal line by the Sunbury and Erie Railroad Company. Canal reports for the Pennsylvania Canal and feeders, and Delaware and Raritan Canal Company. Two bookplates on the front paste-down endpaper, one is from the Geological Library of Anthony Wayne Vogdes, and the other of the San Diego Society of Natural History. "General Anthony Wayne Vogdes (1843-1923) was closely associated with the San Diego Society of Natural History during the early years of the 20th Century. Born to a distinguished family of military men, General Vogdes was a self-taught geologist and paleontologist of recognized ability and scholarship." The four reports with pages professionally repaired and bound in half leather over marbled boards, probabably prior to 1900. Pages quite toned. Overall, about very good.
