First edition, first printing Due to production delays, the book was eventually published in the summer of 1896, not 1894 as stated on the title page. A history and development of steam locomotives. 175 pages, everyone, excepting index pages, with gorgeous subdued color illustrations of early steam locomotion from 1680 through 1893. Also, each page features a sketch of an important person in locomotive devlopment and sketches of track development. The illustrations were signed either as "Winchell" or "W.P. Co. NY." Rebound some years after publication in brown buckram with title printed on the spine. New headbands and interior hinges professionally repaired. Very good plus. Hardcover (Item ID: 43283)
